Carsharing works best when users finish their trips on time, but late return fees can sometimes be too strict. A driver that returns the car just a few seconds after the scheduled end time may be frustrated to get billed for another 30 minutes.
With the Grace Period you can allow your customers to return the car slightly late without receiving an extra fee. This period could be one, four or ten minutes. Choose the length of time that best fits your sharing model.
Explanation
Always: the ****general grace period applies to the reservation’s end. (Even if the reservation ends earlier) Little bit late return only: the grace period only applies to the reservation’s end when the vehicle is returned a little bit later than booked.
The grace period can be defined for each reservation rate:
Zemtu billing → Reservation rates → + edit/add Reservation rates
💡 Hint: Keep the grace period time for late returns as short as possible to avoid conflicts with other users (overlapping reservations).
Examples
Grace period 3 min / Little bit late return only
