Turnover guarantees

To avoid placing the entire economic risk on the car-sharing operator, partners can agree on a turnover guarantee.

In a revenue guarantee, a customer or partner of yours (municipality, housing project, company) is obligated to ensure that a vehicle placed with them generates a certain revenue per month. If the monthly revenue is lower than the specified amount, this partner covers the difference.

Background

Basically, as a car-sharing operator, you bear the risk that a vehicle generates good revenue per month. Consequently, you will always carefully select and establish the locations so that the vehicles are used as effectively as possible.

When a municipality in a rural area wants to provide a car-sharing service, the risk for you as the operator is quite high. With a revenue guarantee, you can transfer the risk entirely or partially to the municipality. This allows the municipality to start a car-sharing project without the risk being too high for you.

Another exciting aspect of this model is that the municipality also has an interest in ensuring that the service is used by the citizens. Therefore, it will promote the service accordingly. This creates a win-win situation for both you and the municipality.

Example of exclusive car sharing for a residential project

As a car-sharing operator, you provide a vehicle to a residential complex that may only be used by the residents of that complex. Since this vehicle may only be used by the residents, you want a guarantee that the monthly costs of the vehicle are covered.

If the vehicle generates less than the specified amount, the difference will be charged to the community at the end of the month. If the vehicle generates more than the minimum amount, the community will not receive an invoice.
