What is Convadis?
Convadis is a Swiss provider of telematics for carsharing and fleet vehicles. For over 20 years they have been developing and manufacturing the C-Compact on-board unit (OBU) and the CCom communication server. Thousands of vehicles in many countries use Convadis technology. Zemtu integrates with Convadis so your vehicles can be opened via smartphone or RFID and so reservation and trip data are available for billing and fleet management.
What we use: C-Compact and CCom
Zemtu uses the Convadis C-Compact – a compact telematics device installed in the vehicle – and the CCom communication server. Together they provide:
Keyless access – Users open and close the vehicle via the Zemtu app (smartphone) or RFID card; access is only granted when a reservation or whitelist permission exists for that period.
Trip and vehicle data – Data needed for billing, statistics, maintenance, and fleet management are captured and sent to Zemtu.
Vehicle security – Vehicles are protected against unauthorised use; the immobiliser is controlled according to reservations.
Flexible fit – C-Compact can be installed in a wide range of vehicle types (cars, trucks, different powertrains); installation is typically quick and can be done by trained workshops or Convadis installation partners.
The CCom server connects the C-Compact devices to Zemtu’s booking and admin system via standard interfaces.
