Signup email rules
How do I allow or block email addresses during signup?

Overview
Zemtu checks email addresses during signup to help stop fake and unwanted registrations. If an automatic check gets it wrong, your team can allow a legitimate customer or block an unwanted address.

The Signup rules list contains signup attempts, rules generated automatically from signup activity and manually created rules. Organization administrators and managers can manage rules for their organizations.
Active rules
Active rules are applied during signup checks. A rule becomes active when:
it is reviewed,
it is marked as active (which also marks it as reviewed).
The new active rule applies to future matching signup attempts.
An inactive Allow rule doesn’t mean the address was approved by your team or that registration was completed. An inactive Block rule doesn’t mean the address is allowed. If a trusted customer was wrongly blocked, see Help a blocked customer.
Review new signup attempts
Choosing Allow or Block reviews the signup entry and activates the rule.
Select your organization and filter by Reviewed → No.
Check the Last attempt, decision and reason. Look at both Allow and Block entries: automatic checks can make mistakes in either direction.
If an account was created, look for the customer in Users. Use their registration details and any contact with your team to assess the signup; an unfamiliar-looking email alone isn't proof of abuse.
Choose Allow for a trusted address or Block for an unwanted one. Add a short Reason for your colleagues. If you're unsure, leave it unreviewed while you investigate.
💡 Hint: Reviewing an entry doesn’t pause or approve registration. If an unwanted account already exists, manage it separately in Users.
Help a blocked customer
Find the customer's email address in the correct organization.
Confirm that it's an address you trust.
Choose Allow and confirm. If there's no entry, create an active email rule with the Allow decision.
Ask the customer to retry signup. Zemtu doesn't notify them when you change the rule.
Allow lets that address pass the remaining signup email checks after its format is validated. The customer still needs to complete registration and your normal verification process.
Block an unwanted address
Find the entry, choose Block, and confirm. You can also create a new active Block rule.
Email affects one exact address, such as
alex@example.com.Domain affects every address on that exact domain, such as
example.com. Use it carefully: it could block legitimate customers too. Subdomains aren't included.
An explicit Email rule takes priority over a Domain rule. For example, you can allow one customer on a blocked domain.
Stop using a rule
Clear Active and save. The history stays, but the rule stops applying and is no longer used as an AI example. Other rules and automatic checks still apply.
These rules affect signup email checks. They don't suspend existing accounts, stop existing customers from signing in, or cancel reservations. Manage those actions separately.
