Manually enrolling chip cards debit cards or employee badges

👉 Overview

This article describes how to read an unknown chip card or RFID chip (e.g. employee card, employee badge, ATM card, debit card, etc.) with the INVERS CloudBoxx and create it in the Zemtu system. This chip card can then be used to open or close a vehicle.

🧑‍💻 How to

  1. Take the chip card and go to a vehicle with the INVERS CloudBoxx.
  1. Hold the card to the reader at the windshield.
    1. Since the card is not yet in the system, the LED on the card reader will turn red. This is ok at this point of the process. Make sure to takes notes such as date, time and vehicle to which you held the card up to the reader.

Make sure that you only hold this chip card up to the reader. Take the card out of your wallet.

  1. Click on the menu Fleet Log.

    2. After you have set the filter, a list of events will be displayed.
    3. Select the appropriate event Card reader: RFID tag/card read. On the right side of the screen, the card is updated and the data of the event is displayed.

      • Click on the top right + Add Chipcard
      • The form for creating a new chip card will open. It is important that you copy the chip card ID from the INVERS system in the Zemtu system at RFID Chip ID. The other options depend on what you want to do with the chip card. For example, assign a user or use it as an offline chip card.
  1. Finally, we recommend testing the chip card at the INVERS box. If you have assigned the card to a user: Create a booking for this user and use the card to open and close. If you have created an offline chip card: Go to the vehicle without a booking and make sure that the vehicle can be opened and closed.

🤷 Questions & Answers

Which chipcards can be used?

Mifare, Legic and Hitag chipcards are compatible with INVERS. However, there are many different standards for chip cards, so we recommend that you test a chip card to make sure that it really works.

How can I check if my chipcard is compatible?

Hold the chip card next to the reader and then check in INVERS FleetControl whether the chip card has been recognized. If no entry appears in the Fleet Log, repeat the procedure. If there is still no entry, the chip card can probably not be recognized by the reader.
